Last Train to Los Olivos

Here’s a chance to see an extraordinary short 16mm film converted onto a DVD showing an original Pacific Coast train coming across “High Trestle” located about 2 miles outside of Los Olivos, and arriving at Los Olivos, unloading the mail, turning the engine, and getting ready for the trip to SLO. Remarkable footage taken in 1934!

In addition, Curt Cragg and Ken Kelley will be giving presentations about the PCRy, Mattei’s Tavern, & Los Olivos. After which, a 1926 Buster Keaton movie, “The General” will be shown.

(Los Olivos was the southern terminus of the original Pacific Coast Railway, which operated in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties until the early 1940s.)
